Halloween TV: Roseanne

The absolute best show ever for Halloween specials!  Roseanne completely embraced the holiday and I looked forward to these episodes every year when I was little.

Season 2

BOO!

Roseanne celebrates Halloween, making a complicated haunted house for trick or treaters to go through. They play a prank on Dan along with a potential employer.

Season 3, Episode 7, 10/30/90

Trick or Treat

Roseanne shows up dressed as a bearded lumberjack to a Halloween party at the Lobo Lounge and spends the night in character.

Season 4, Episode 6, 10/29/91

Trick Me Up, Trick Me Down

Roseanne is on pins & needles, convinced that Kathy Bowman will take revenge for the Halloween prank she played on her; Jackie flirts with a moose at the Lodge costume party only to discover it’s former boyfriend Booker.

Season 5, Episode 7, 10/27/92

Halloween IV

Roseanne sends everyone to a party while she stays home—and is visited by the ghosts of Halloween past, present, and future to teach her a lesson about the Halloween spirit.

Season 6, Episode 6, 10/26/93

Halloween V

Halloween at the diner becomes complicated when Nancy complains that Dan doesn’t like her, and Roseanne discovers that Darlene and David are dating other people.

Season 7, Episode 6, 10/26/94

Skeleton in the Closet

Leon outdoes himself hosting a Halloween soiree with the Lunch Box clan and a bevy of his gay friends, many of whom seem to know Fred—intimately. Meanwhile, Jackie and Roseanne visit Bev’s hairdresser and become convinced that she wears a wig.

Season 8, Episode 5, 10/31/95

Halloween: the Final Chapter

Roseanne reigns as queen of the gypsies, consort of wizards, and seer of souls on Halloween. A Ouija board message from “The Dead” portends an unexpected event.

Season 9, Episode 7, 10/29/96

Satan, Darling

Jackie and Roseanne attend a party in New York, where they mingle with Manhattan’s upper crust as well as two flashy British women. As the evening progresses, however, Roseanne finds herself drawn into a creepy 90’s version of “Rosemary’s Baby”.
